Overview

MG56 is an investigational allergen immunotherapy (AIT) product developed by INMUNOTEK for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis caused by grass pollen. The formulation consists of a 50/50 mixture of polymerized allergoids from *Phleum pratense* (Timothy grass) and *Dactylis glomerata* (Orchard grass), which are chemically conjugated to non-oxidized mannan from *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* using glutaraldehyde. This mannan-conjugation technology is designed to target the allergoids to dendritic cells via C-type lectin receptors (such as the mannose receptor), promoting the induction of allergen-specific T-cell tolerance and shifting the immune response away from the Th2-mediated IgE production characteristic of allergies. MG56 has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for both subcutaneous (SCIT) and sublingual (SLIT) administration.
