MG7-CART is an investigational autologous CAR-T cell therapy designed to target the MG7 antigen, which is highly specific to gastrointestinal tumors, particularly gastric (stomach) cancer. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes and binds to the MG7 antigen on tumor cells. Upon administration—often via intratumoral injection—these modified T cells selectively attach to and kill cancer cells expressing the MG7 marker[1][2][3]. Clinical development has focused on advanced solid tumors such as liver metastases from gastrointestinal cancers. Shanghai Genechem is identified as a key developer of this therapy[5]. MG7-CART targets both the well-characterized CEACAM5 (carcinoembryonic antigen related cell adhesion molecule 5) and the more recently described MG7 tumor-associated antigen, both relevant in gastrointestinal malignancies[2][3][5]. The product is being evaluated primarily for advanced solid tumors with high expression of these antigens.
