Overview

MG98 is a second-generation antisense oligodeoxynucleotide that inhibits human DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1). It works by reducing CpG island methylation and allowing reexpression of tumor suppressor genes that have been silenced through methylation in cancer cells. The drug has been investigated in clinical trials for various cancers including advanced solid tumors, head and neck cancer, renal cell carcinoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and acute myeloid leukemia.
