Overview

MGD020 is a bispecific DART (Dual-Affinity Re-Targeting) molecule developed by MacroGenics. It is designed to bind both CD3 on T cells and the gp41 subunit of the HIV-1 envelope. By engaging these targets, MGD020 redirects CD3+ T lymphocytes to recognize and kill HIV-1-infected CD4+ T cells. It is being developed as a potential immunotherapeutic agent for people with HIV-1 infection who are on antiretroviral therapy. The drug is currently in phase 1 clinical trials, both as a single agent and in combination with another DART molecule, MGD014, which targets CD3 and the gp120 subunit of HIV-1 envelope.
