Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MH6 is an experimental methamphetamine-conjugate vaccine (methamphetamine hapten) designed to elicit high-affinity anti-methamphetamine antibodies that sequester the drug in the bloodstream and reduce its distribution to the brain, thereby attenuating its reinforcing and toxic effects.[2][6] The construct links a chemically modified methamphetamine molecule (hapten) to an immunogenic carrier protein to trigger a T cell–dependent humoral response against methamphetamine.[6] Preclinical work has shown that MH6 vaccination generates sustained antibody titers capable of binding circulating methamphetamine and has been investigated as a potential immunopharmacotherapy for methamphetamine use disorder and addiction.[2][6]
