MHB018A is a novel, subcutaneously administered fusion protein composed of a humanized single-domain antibody targeting the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) fused to an Fc fragment. Developed by Minghui Pharmaceutical, it is designed for the treatment of thyroid eye disease (TED), also known as Graves ophthalmopathy. The drug acts as an antagonist of IGF-1R, blocking both IGF-1 and IGF-2 ligand binding with three to five times greater potency than other known IGF-1R antibodies. Its high solubility (150 mg/mL) enables convenient subcutaneous administration. In clinical trials, MHB018A demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing proptosis and improving clinical activity scores in TED patients, with a favorable safety profile and mostly mild adverse events[3][4][5][6][7][8].
