Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MHB039A is a novel bispecific antibody developed by Minghui Pharmaceutical that targets both programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). By binding to PD-1, it blocks the interaction with its ligands, thereby enhancing T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells. Simultaneously, by binding to VEGF, it prevents VEGF from activating its receptor (VEGFR), inhibiting angiogenesis and reducing tumor vascularization. This dual mechanism aims to both stimulate anti-tumor immunity and suppress tumor blood supply. In early clinical trials, MHB039A has demonstrated a favorable safety profile and promising anti-tumor activity in heavily pretreated patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors. The drug is being evaluated for use as a next-generation immunotherapy backbone in combination with other modalities such as chemotherapy, small molecules, vaccines, ADCs, and T cell engagers[2][4][5][6].
