mHER2Bi-armed T cells are mouse T cells armed with a bispecific antibody (mHER2Bi) that targets mouse HER2 (neu) and mouse CD3. This preclinical cell therapy is used as a surrogate model to study the therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of HER2-targeted bispecific antibody-armed T cells (HER2Bi-armed T cells) in murine cancer models. By binding to both CD3 on T cells and HER2 on tumor cells, the armed T cells are redirected to selectively kill HER2-expressing cancer cells, including cancer stem cells (CSCs) that selectively express HER2 even in tumors classified as HER2-negative. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that adoptive transfer of mHER2Bi-armed T cells exhibits significant antitumor activity, which can be further enhanced when combined with anti-PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitors.
