mi-TPPtx is a preclinical-stage therapeutic peptide developed by Multimmune. It is based on a proprietary 14-amino acid sequence known as the TPP (Tumor Penetrating Peptide), which specifically targets the membrane-bound form of Heat Shock Protein 70 (Hsp70). While Hsp70 is typically an intracellular molecular chaperone, it is selectively translocated to the cell surface of various malignant cells but is absent on the surface of normal cells. mi-TPPtx is designed to exploit this tumor-specific expression for targeted therapy, potentially serving as a vehicle for delivering cytotoxic agents or directly mediating anti-tumor activity against Hsp70-positive solid tumors, including head and neck cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, and Barrett's esophagus with dysplasia.
