mi-TUMEXtx is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Multimmune that specifically targets membrane-bound Heat Shock Protein 70 (mHsp70). While Hsp70 is typically an intracellular molecular chaperone, it is selectively expressed on the plasma membrane of a wide variety of human tumors and metastases, but not on normal cells. mi-TUMEXtx binds to this tumor-specific membrane Hsp70 and mediates tumor cell destruction through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). By recruiting immune effector cells to the tumor site, the drug aims to provide a targeted therapeutic approach for a broad range of Hsp70-positive malignancies, including primary tumors and their metastases.
