MI Varnish

MI Varnish is a topical dental fluoride varnish containing 5% sodium fluoride (22,600 ppm fluoride) and Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP), also known as Recaldent. Developed by GC Corporation, it is indicated for the treatment of dental hypersensitivity and the prevention of dental caries. The product utilizes the synergistic effect of fluoride and CPP-ACP; while fluoride promotes the formation of fluorapatite, the CPP-ACP complex stabilizes high concentrations of calcium and phosphate ions at the tooth surface, maintaining a supersaturated state that facilitates deep enamel remineralization. This dual-action mechanism is particularly effective in arresting and reversing incipient carious lesions and white spot lesions, especially in high-risk patients such as those undergoing orthodontic treatment.
