Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Miasartan potassium is a small molecule angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AT1) antagonist developed by Shandong Huasu Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hypertension. As an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), it selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby blocking the hormone's vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects. This mechanism leads to systemic vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure. The drug is classified as a Class 1 innovative chemical drug in China and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
