Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mibavademab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of the leptin receptor (LEPR). It is being developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of conditions associated with leptin deficiency, including congenital or acquired generalized lipodystrophy, familial partial lipodystrophy, and obesity. Mibavademab is designed to mimic the action of leptin by activating its receptor, thereby addressing metabolic abnormalities in patients with leptin deficiency or resistance. The drug has received orphan drug designation for lipodystrophy in both the US and Europe. Clinical studies have evaluated intravenous and subcutaneous administration routes in both pediatric and adult populations[1][2][4][5][7].
