Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MIBITop is a radiopharmaceutical cold kit developed and manufactured by Izotop (Institute of Isotopes Co. Ltd.) for the preparation of Technetium-99m (Tc-99m) sestamibi. The kit contains 1 mg of a copper-MIBI tetrafluoroborate complex as the active precursor. When reconstituted with sterile sodium pertechnetate (Tc-99m), it forms a lipophilic cationic complex that localizes in tissues with high mitochondrial density and metabolic activity. It is primarily used in nuclear medicine for SPECT imaging to assess myocardial perfusion and ventricular function, detect suspected breast cancer (scintimammography), and localize hyperfunctioning parathyroid tissue in patients with hyperparathyroidism.
