MIC-001 is a preclinical-stage, off-the-shelf in vivo CAR-T therapy developed by MVRIX for the treatment of hematologic cancers, including relapsed and refractory cases. The therapy utilizes the proprietary Navibody platform, which consists of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) targeted to the CD3 T-cell surface marker. These LNPs deliver mRNA encoding a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) directly to T cells within the patient's body, enabling the transient generation of CAR-T cells. This in vivo approach is designed to circumvent the complexities and high costs of traditional ex vivo CAR-T manufacturing while offering a lower risk of secondary cancers and the potential for repeat dosing compared to viral vector-based gene therapies.
