Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MicroDerm is a microsurfaced acellular dermal matrix (mADM) derived from donated human dermis, processed to remove cellular components while preserving the structural and biochemical integrity of the extracellular matrix. It is primarily used in periodontal surgery for root coverage procedures to treat gingival recession. The microsurfaced texture, developed under the Cytoplast brand, is designed to enhance wound healing, facilitate revascularization, and improve patient outcomes compared to traditional smooth acellular dermal matrices. By acting as a biological scaffold, it supports the migration and proliferation of host cells, leading to the regeneration of functional gingival tissue.
