Microencapsulated grass pollen extract (CL-002) is an oral allergen immunotherapy (AIT) candidate developed by Curalogic A/S for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis caused by grass pollen. The formulation consists of a standardized extract of *Phleum pratense* (timothy grass) pollen, which is microencapsulated into beads and administered within an oral capsule. This microencapsulation technology is specifically designed to protect the allergens from degradation by gastric acid, allowing for targeted delivery to the Peyer's patches in the jejunum and duodenum. By interacting with the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT), the therapy aims to induce immunological tolerance and modulate the IgE-mediated allergic response. CL-002 was investigated in a Phase 1 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled dose-escalation study to evaluate safety and determine the maximal tolerated dose in adults with grass pollen allergy.
