Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Microlyte PainGuard is a synthetic antimicrobial wound matrix developed by Imbed Biosciences. It is a medical device cleared via the FDA 510(k) pathway for the management of various partial- and full-thickness wounds, including surgical incisions, burns, and chronic ulcers. The product utilizes a polyvinyl alcohol-based Microlyte Matrix to deliver a combination of silver (in ionic and metallic forms) for broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection and lidocaine hydrochloride for localized, non-opioid pain relief. It is designed to kill 99.99% of common bacteria and fungi while providing a moist wound environment conducive to healing.
