A microRNA mimic designed to restore or enhance the activity of miR-184. In the context of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), miR-184 acts as a tumor suppressor by targeting SLC25A22, a mitochondrial glutamate transporter. Upregulation of SLC25A22 in radioresistant GBM cells leads to increased cytosolic glutamate, which fuels glutathione (GSH) and proline synthesis, promoting radioresistance and invasiveness. By mimicking miR-184, this agent downregulates SLC25A22, thereby remodeling glutamate metabolism, reducing antioxidant capacity, and sensitizing GBM cells to radiotherapy. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that intranasal administration can prolong survival in GBM-bearing mice.
