Drug intelligence / Profile preview
microRNA-210 mimic (also known as miR-210 mimic or agomiR-210) is a synthetic, double-stranded RNA oligonucleotide designed to mimic the activity of endogenous microRNA-210 (miR-210). As a key hypoxia-responsive microRNA regulated by hypoxia-inducible factors (HIF), miR-210 plays a critical role in cell survival, mitochondrial metabolism, and angiogenesis. The mimic functions by binding to the messenger RNAs (mRNAs) of target genes, such as STAT6, APC, ISCU, and various ER-stress and apoptotic genes, thereby regulating their translation or stability. Although primarily utilized as a research-use-only reagent, preclinical studies have investigated its therapeutic potential in promoting wound healing in diabetic models, improving cardiac function in ischemic heart disease, and facilitating neurological recovery in spinal cord injury.
