Overview

microRNA-373-3p mimic is a synthetic, chemically modified double-stranded RNA molecule designed to emulate the biological activity of the endogenous mature microRNA-373-3p. It functions by incorporating into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) and binding to the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of specific target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), leading to their degradation or translational inhibition. In prostate cancer research, miR-373-3p has been shown to target the Transforming growth factor-beta receptor type 2 (TGFBR2), thereby modulating the TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway. This mimic is primarily used in preclinical research to investigate the tumor-suppressive roles of miR-373-3p in various cancers, where it has been observed to inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion.
