Overview

Midaglizole is an imidazoline derivative that was investigated as a potential antidiabetic and anti-obesity agent. It acts primarily as an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor antagonist, with additional activity at imidazoline receptors. Midaglizole was studied for its ability to stimulate insulin secretion and improve glucose tolerance, but it has not been approved or widely marketed for clinical use. Its development appears to have been discontinued, and it is not currently available as a pharmaceutical product.
