Overview

MIDRIX-CTRL DCs are autologous dendritic cells used as a control intervention in the MIDRIXNEO-LUNG Phase I clinical trial (NCT04078269) conducted by University Hospital, Ghent. These cells are derived from the patient but, unlike the therapeutic MIDRIXNEO-LUNG vaccine, they are not loaded with tumor-specific neoantigens. They are administered via intradermal injection to perform delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) skin testing. This procedure serves as a baseline to assess non-antigen-specific immune reactivity, allowing researchers to distinguish between general background immune activation and the specific cytotoxic T-cell responses induced by the neoantigen-targeted vaccine in patients with resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
