Overview

MIE-101 is a first-in-class intratumoral immunotherapy based on non-infectious cowpea mosaic virus (CPMV) nanoparticles being developed for the treatment of solid tumors. It acts as a broad immune stimulant by engaging multiple pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), particularly Toll-like receptors 2, 4, and 7 on innate immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, triggering cytokine release, macrophage polarization from M2 to M1, and activation of cytotoxic and memory T cells, leading to robust innate and adaptive antitumor responses in preclinical models across several tumor types.[3][4][5][7][8] The product is being advanced by Mosaic ImmunoEngineering as an intratumoral agent, distinct from oncolytic viruses, and has shown single‑agent activity in preclinical tumor models and naturally occurring tumors in canine companion animals, with potential for use alone or in combination with checkpoint inhibitors and other immuno-oncology agents.[3][4][8][9][15][16]
