MIGRA-NP01 is a targeted hyaluronic acid nanoparticle drug candidate developed by MIGRA-Therapeutics for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. The therapeutic consists of a hyaluronic acid-based delivery system that encapsulates SN-38, the active metabolite of irinotecan and a potent topoisomerase I inhibitor. MIGRA-NP01 is designed to target receptors overexpressed on both cancer cells and tumor stromal cells, potentially utilizing protease or plasminogen activator-mediated mechanisms to trigger localized drug release within the tumor microenvironment. This targeted approach aims to enhance the therapeutic index of SN-38 by increasing its concentration at the tumor site while reducing systemic exposure and associated toxicities. As of 2024, the program is in IND-enabling preclinical development for a planned Phase 1 clinical trial.
