Overview

Migrenium is a combination analgesic and antipyretic drug product developed and marketed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Promomed Group. The primary formulation consists of paracetamol (500 mg) and caffeine (65 mg). Paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and blocking the generation of pain impulses. Caffeine acts as an adjuvant that enhances the analgesic efficacy of paracetamol, likely by improving its absorption and providing mild central nervous system stimulation, which helps alleviate the fatigue and drowsiness often associated with migraine attacks. Migrenium is indicated for the symptomatic relief of various types of pain, including headaches, migraines, toothaches, and menstrual pain. Promomed also markets a related product, Migrenium Neo, which contains ibuprofen and caffeine.
