Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MigVax-101** is an investigational oral subunit vaccine against COVID-19 developed by MigVax Ltd., an affiliate of The Migal Galilee Research Institute. It features a chimeric multi-epitope protein incorporating the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, two nucleocapsid (N) domains, and heat-labile enterotoxin B (LTB) as a mucosal adjuvant, adjuvanted with LTB to elicit simultaneous mucosal IgA, systemic IgG, and cell-mediated immune responses including IFN-γ and IL-2 secretion. Preclinical studies in mice and rats demonstrated robust neutralizing antibody titers, especially as a booster following injected S1 protein priming, with mucosal immunity in lungs and no significant toxicity; it offers advantages like ease of oral administration, no cold chain extremes, variant adaptability, and suitability for needle-hesitant populations. Partnership with Catalent explores Zydis Bio orally disintegrating tablet formulation.[1][2][3][11][13]
