MIL95 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the leukocyte surface antigen CD47. By binding to CD47, MIL95 acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor, blocking the "don't eat me" signal that cancer cells use to evade macrophage-mediated phagocytosis. This mechanism enhances the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy tumor cells, providing potential antineoplastic (anti-cancer) activity. MIL95 is being investigated primarily for advanced malignancies, including lymphomas and various solid tumors such as breast and lung cancers. Early clinical studies indicate manageable toxicity profiles with common adverse events including anemia, increased bilirubin levels, leukopenia, pyrexia, and fatigue; most were mild or moderate in severity[1][2]. The drug is currently in early-phase clinical trials with ongoing dose escalation studies[2][3][7].
