Miltuximab fab is a monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) derived from miltuximab, a clinical-stage antibody targeting glypican-1 (GPC-1). Developed by GlyTherix, it is designed for use in immuno-PET imaging to detect GPC-1-expressing solid tumors, such as glioblastoma. By lacking the Fc region, the Fab fragment typically exhibits faster systemic clearance and a reduced half-life compared to the full-length antibody, which can be advantageous for achieving high-contrast imaging at earlier time points. In research settings, it is often conjugated with radioisotopes like zirconium-89 (89Zr) for diagnostic molecular imaging. Preclinical studies have evaluated its pharmacokinetics and biodistribution to optimize tumor-to-background ratios for noninvasive disease detection.
