Overview

Milveterol (GSK159797) is a long-acting, inhaled beta-2 adrenoceptor agonist developed by GSK for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It acts by stimulating the beta-2 adrenergic receptor on airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation and relief of bronchoconstriction symptoms. Milveterol was investigated in clinical trials as a potential therapy for both asthma and COPD but has not reached regulatory approval[1][3][4].
