MimyX

MimyX is a topical non-steroidal hydrogel dressing indicated for the management and relief of burning and itching associated with various dermatoses, including atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, and radiation dermatitis. Developed by Stiefel Laboratories (later acquired by GSK), the product is formulated as a water-based emulsion that mimics the natural lipid components of the stratum corneum. Its key ingredients, such as palmitamide MEA, squalane, and hydrogenated lecithin, work to restore the skin's natural barrier function and reduce transepidermal water loss without suppressing the immune system. The formulation is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and preservative-free, making it suitable for both adult and pediatric patients. It was cleared by the FDA in 2005 as a medical device (hydrogel dressing) and is primarily available by prescription.
