MIN-301 is a recombinant form of the neuregulin-1β1 protein, specifically comprising the extracellular domain of neuregulin-1β1. It is being developed as a neuroprotective and disease-modifying therapy for Parkinson's disease. Preclinical studies have shown that MIN-301 can restore motor function and improve cognition in animal models of Parkinson's disease by acting as an agonist at the ERBB 4 receptor. The drug aims to slow or reverse brain tissue damage associated with neurodegenerative disorders. Development has focused on Parkinson’s disease; previous development efforts for Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, and other CNS disorders have been discontinued[1][2][4][5][6].
