Overview

Mindeudesivir hydrobromide (VV116) is an oral antiviral agent structurally related to remdesivir and developed as a deuterated analog for the treatment of COVID-19. It retains the antiviral activity of remdesivir against SARS-CoV-2 and is notable for being one of the first domestically produced deuterium-modified antivirals targeting COVID-19[8]. Clarithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and as part of combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication. It acts by binding to domain V of 23S rRNA in the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting protein synthesis[1][3][4]. The combination described here does not represent a standard or approved fixed-dose product but rather two separate agents with distinct mechanisms—one antiviral (mindeudesivir hydrobromide) and one antibacterial (clarithromycin).
