Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Minhai varicella vaccine is a lyophilized live attenuated vaccine derived from the Oka strain of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). Developed by Beijing Minhai Biotechnology, it is designed to prevent chickenpox (varicella) in children. The vaccine works by inducing active immunity, including the production of VZV-specific antibodies and cell-mediated immune responses. It has been evaluated in Phase III clinical trials in China, specifically targeting healthy children aged 1 to 12 years to assess its safety and immunogenicity compared to existing varicella vaccines.
