Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mino-Wrap (CITI 101) is a liquefying gel-based wrap containing the antibiotics minocycline and rifampin, designed to reduce infections associated with breast implants and tissue expanders following reconstructive surgeries. The product is a thin, biodegradable film that is wrapped around an implant before insertion; it subsequently liquefies into a gel, providing a sustained release of antibiotics directly at the surgical site. This localized delivery aims to prevent biofilm formation and surgical site infections (SSIs), which are significant complications in post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. It was in-licensed by Citius Pharmaceuticals from The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
