Overview

MINT1526A is a monoclonal antibody developed to block the interaction of integrin alpha 5 beta 1 (α5β1) with its extracellular matrix ligands. By inhibiting this interaction, the drug disrupts integrin-mediated signaling pathways that are implicated in tumor cell adhesion, migration, survival, and angiogenesis. Integrin α5β1 is known to play a role in cancer progression and resistance to therapy. In clinical studies, MINT1526A was evaluated as monotherapy and in combination with bevacizumab for patients with advanced solid tumors. The drug demonstrated good tolerability at tested doses; no dose-limiting toxicities or maximum tolerated dose were observed. Preliminary evidence suggested potential efficacy when combined with bevacizumab[1][2][3][4][5][7].
