Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Miogold is a nutraceutical supplement developed by Miotic Pharmaceuticals, formulated as a combination of calcium, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), and methylcobalamin. This product is designed to support bone density and neurological health. Calcium provides the essential mineral matrix for bone formation, while vitamin D3 acts as a steroid hormone precursor that binds to the vitamin D receptor (VDR) to promote intestinal calcium absorption and maintain calcium homeostasis. Methylcobalamin, an active coenzyme form of vitamin B12, serves as a cofactor for methionine synthase, which is critical for DNA synthesis and the maintenance of the myelin sheath in the nervous system. Miogold is typically indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin B12 deficiencies, as well as for supporting patients with osteoporosis or peripheral neuropathy.
