MIP-1095 I‑131 is a radioconjugate composed of the small molecule ligand MIP‑1095, which selectively binds to prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a transmembrane glycoprotein highly expressed on malignant prostate epithelial cells. The compound is radiolabeled with iodine‑131, a β-particle emitter. Upon administration, the drug targets and binds to PSMA-expressing cancer cells, delivering cytotoxic radiation directly to these cells and thereby inducing targeted cell death while minimizing exposure to normal tissue. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Clinical studies have shown that it can reduce PSA levels and tumor burden in heavily pretreated patients[1][3][4][8].
