MIP-190 is a small molecule inhibitor of Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), also known as glutamate carboxypeptidase II (GCPII). Developed by Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals (now part of Lantheus), it belongs to a class of urea-based ligands designed to bind with high affinity to the extracellular domain of PSMA, which is significantly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. MIP-190 was primarily investigated as a targeting moiety for radiopharmaceuticals, intended for use in diagnostic imaging or radionuclide therapy of metastatic prostate cancer. While it demonstrated potent binding and selectivity in preclinical models, the development program eventually focused on related analogs such as MIP-1072 and MIP-1095, which progressed further into clinical evaluation. MIP-190 is often cited in literature as the non-radioactive ('cold') precursor or lead analog within this chemical series.
