Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pegbin + ACT580 is a combination regimen consisting of mipeginterferon alfa-2b (Pegbin), a long-acting pegylated interferon-alpha, and pevifoscorvir sodium (ACT580/ALG-000184), an oral small molecule capsid assembly modulator (CAM-E). Developed through a clinical collaboration between Xiamen Amoytop Biotech and Aligos Therapeutics, this combination is being evaluated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Mipeginterferon alfa-2b acts as an immunomodulator and antiviral agent by binding to the interferon-alpha/beta receptor (IFNAR), while pevifoscorvir sodium selectively targets the HBV core protein to disrupt capsid assembly, prevent viral replication, and reduce the cccDNA reservoir. Together, the two agents aim to achieve higher rates of functional cure in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
