miR-106b-25 lentiviral vector is a gene therapy research tool designed to overexpress the miR-106b-25 microRNA cluster, which comprises miR-106b, miR-93, and miR-25. In hematological malignancies such as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), this cluster is implicated in promoting chemoresistance and disease progression by inhibiting multiple apoptotic pathways. The vector delivers the genetic sequence of the cluster into target cells, leading to the direct and indirect downregulation of pro-apoptotic genes, including TP73, BAK1, and CASPASE-7. This suppression of apoptosis enhances leukemic cell proliferation and confers resistance to various treatments, including doxorubicin, imatinib, and BCL-2 inhibitors. It is primarily utilized in preclinical research to investigate the biological roles of these microRNAs and to explore potential diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for AML.
