Overview

miR-10b-5p inhibitor refers to a class of synthetic antisense oligonucleotides (antimiRs or antagomiRs) designed to bind and neutralize the microRNA miR-10b-5p. In various cancers, miR-10b-5p acts as an oncomiR, promoting tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis by downregulating tumor suppressor genes such as PTEN, HOXD10, and TET2. In glioblastoma (GBM), miR-10b-5p is highly expressed and correlates with poor prognosis; its inhibition has been shown to increase 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) levels and inhibit tumor propagation in xenograft models. While widely used as a research tool and commercially available from reagent suppliers, there is currently no specific clinical-stage drug candidate or proprietary pharmaceutical program associated with this generic name.
