miR-1226-3p mimic is a synthetic microRNA mimic designed to replicate the activity of endogenous miR-1226-3p. In preclinical oncology research, miR-1226-3p mimic has been investigated for its tumor-suppressive properties. It acts by post-transcriptionally regulating and downregulating several target genes, including aquaporin-5 (AQP5), mucin-1 (MUC1-C), dual specificity phosphatase 4 (DUSP4), HER2, PIK3R2, and AKT1. In breast cancer models, exosome-mediated delivery or transfection of miR-1226-3p mimic inhibits cancer cell migration and metastasis. Additionally, it has been shown to enhance sorafenib sensitivity in hepatocellular carcinoma cells and cisplatin/5-fluorouracil sensitivity in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cells.
