miR-1246 inhibitor is a research-stage, chemically synthesized antisense oligonucleotide (antagomir) designed to inhibit the activity of microRNA-1246 (miR-1246), an endogenous non-coding RNA. It typically consists of a chemically modified single-stranded RNA sequence (e.g., CCUGCUCCAAAAAUCCA with full-length 2'-methoxy modifications) that hybridizes with and blocks mature hsa-miR-1246. By sequestering miR-1246, the inhibitor prevents the suppression of downstream target genes such as NFE2L3, AXIN2, GSK-3β, and Cav1. Preclinical studies have explored its potential in overcoming drug resistance and inhibiting metastasis in various malignancies, including multiple myeloma, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer. It is currently utilized exclusively as a research reagent and has no regulatory approval for clinical use.
