miR-1271-5p mimic is a synthetic double-stranded RNA oligonucleotide designed to emulate the biological activity of the endogenous microRNA miR-1271-5p. Functioning as a tumor suppressor, it post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression by binding to the 3' untranslated regions (UTRs) of target mRNAs, leading to their degradation or translational repression. Preclinical research has demonstrated that miR-1271-5p mimic can inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while promoting apoptosis in various cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer. It achieves these effects by targeting oncogenic factors such as ZIC2, FOXK2, and PHF6. Currently, the mimic is primarily utilized as a research reagent and laboratory tool to investigate microRNA-mediated signaling pathways and potential therapeutic interventions in oncology.
