miR-1283 inhibitor is a synthetic antisense oligonucleotide designed to sequence-specifically bind and sequester microRNA-1283 (miR-1283), thereby preventing it from regulating its target messenger RNAs. In preclinical neuro-oncology research, miR-1283 has been identified as a potential biomarker that is significantly under-expressed in the serum of patients with glioblastoma and other brain tumors. Experimental inhibition of miR-1283 in glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) using these inhibitors has been shown to augment cell growth, viability, and self-renewal, suggesting that the loss of miR-1283 expression may contribute to tumor progression. These inhibitors are primarily utilized as research tools to elucidate the functional role of miR-1283 in cancer biology and stem cell maintenance.
