Overview

**mir-142-3p mimic** is a synthetic small RNA oligonucleotide designed to replicate the function of the endogenous microRNA miR-142-3p. It is primarily used in research as a tool to artificially elevate miR-142-3p levels in cells or organisms to study its physiological and pathological roles. The mechanism of action involves downregulation of target mRNAs through RNA-induced silencing, notably affecting genes such as HMGB1, ADCY9, and Apc. This modulation leads to effects such as inhibition of neuroinflammation, increased cancer chemosensitivity, regulation of T cell function, and control of endothelial and mesenchymal cell differentiation. miR-142-3p mimic is most often used in research settings with indications including neuropathic pain, cancer (e.g., breast cancer drug resistance), vascular biology, autoimmune regulation, and inflammation.
