miR-150-5p inhibitor is a synthetic oligonucleotide-based agent designed to complementarily bind and neutralize the microRNA **miR-150-5p**. In the context of neuro-oncology research, miR-150-5p has been identified as a potential biomarker for brain tumors, including glioblastoma, meningioma, and brain metastases. Research indicates that miR-150-5p is significantly under-expressed in the serum of glioblastoma patients compared to healthy controls. Experimental inhibition of miR-150-5p in glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) via lipid transfection has been shown to augment cell growth, viability, and self-renewal, suggesting that miR-150-5p may normally function as a tumor suppressor in this specific cellular context. These inhibitors are primarily utilized as research tools to investigate the functional role of miR-150-5p in oncogenesis and to validate its potential as a therapeutic target or diagnostic biomarker.
