Overview

miR-19a-3p mimic is a synthetic, double-stranded RNA oligonucleotide designed to mimic the activity of endogenous microRNA miR-19a-3p. It is widely used as a laboratory research reagent to investigate the biological functions of miR-19a-3p in various cellular and animal models. By upregulating miR-19a-3p activity, the mimic can post-transcriptionally regulate target genes involved in multiple signaling pathways, such as STAT1/IRF1 (in macrophage polarization), Wnt/β-catenin (in multiple myeloma), and aquaporin-5 (AQP5) (in breast cancer cell migration). It has been studied for its potential tumor-suppressive effects, including the inhibition of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in multiple myeloma, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, and breast cancer, as well as its role in cellular senescence and atherosclerosis. It is not a clinical-stage therapeutic drug and has no approved brand name or single sponsoring developer.
