miR-203a-3p inhibitor is a synthetic oligonucleotide designed to bind and sequester the microRNA miR-203a-3p, thereby preventing it from interacting with its target messenger RNAs. In the context of esophageal cancer (EC) research, miR-203a-3p has been identified as a potential tumor suppressor that directly targets the 3'-UTR of GATA Binding Protein 6 (GATA6). Experimental inhibition of miR-203a-3p in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and adenocarcinoma (EAC) cell lines leads to an increase in GATA6 expression and a corresponding increase in cell proliferation rates. This inhibitor is primarily utilized as a research tool to elucidate the functional role of miR-203a-3p in oncogenesis and to validate its regulatory relationship with downstream effectors like GATA6.
